What We're Reading Now - Updates Anyone?

Jason: See what's on my bookshelf

Anna: Black Swan Green by David Mitchell. All the positive reviews of his earlier stuff, plus a good deal on Amazon...

Emily: Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. Next I have The Mysterious Flame of Queen Loana by Umberto Eco which I think Jason previously read. It's due back at the library soon so not sure if I'm going to get to it. [3-28-06]

Brian: Dialectology by J.K. Chambers - An overview of current trends and ideas in Dialectology.

Also, if you need recommendations on what to read and you're not down with Amazon's recommendations, you might try Enter an author's name and the name of one of their books and you're golden.

  • Em -- I don't know if NYC does it, but here in Jacksonville we have this nifty internet, which lets us renew books from the comfort of our desk chairs...

  • Are you saying my library's backwards?

Actually, it's a pretty great system and they do have Internet renewal. And it appears to long as no one has a hold on it, you can renew almost indefinitely. But this book was already due back Feb. 15, and I've been renewing it ever since. I need to muster up come commitment to read it, or else just let it back into the world. I'll bet it's not very happy stacked at my desk and would rather be back in the stacks, playing late-night games with its little library book friends...
